Even though cultures showcase their beauty, diversity and connections to their land, can also showcase their division and stereotypes toward other foreigners and tribes of people. It’s the reason why we all have our own culture uniquely represented to display who we are and where we came from. But when it comes to integrating into that culture, it has an issue with diversity which makes it ironic to be proud of being diverse from other cultures yet not accept diversity within it.
Cultures are racist as they are within my own culture. Cultures do not fully accept what’s different. They see it as a threat as if they’re at war and reliving its past. To them, looking and being the same is comfortable and familiar. This is like a pact they have within that culture. I don’t think that’s wrong, it’s just a warrior-like mindset. And in the past there has been infiltration within their systems, but the hatred that never healed their hearts, families and land is still present to keep the productive energy going.
On the surface cultures may look happy, entertaining, interestingly unique, but underneath it, holds deeper rooted issues to anyone who happens to want to marry into the families or live within their communities, and adopting their traditions. It may not look like a fit externally, but that person could also hold the soul of that land, with the persons and things.
When we keep the division going we could miss out on what those foreigners could bring to us just as what the cultures can do for them. We were always told it is better to give than receive, but if there is a reciprocal agreement between that culture and the foreigner, like peace, they both can benefit. God never makes mistakes, and by design, that new person who is unknown to us, may chose to be in our land, communing with our people and using our things, may have meant to be there, as we have all experienced an angel or two..maybe more.
There is nothing wrong in keeping traditions going and being proud of our heritages. But change is inevitable, and a new way of thinking is the spark of embracing others as well as ourselves. So within is also without.
